Harking back to strip #63.
The PDF are a force that gets a few mentions in various bits of 40k fluff, but never with much detail.
They're not really very well equipped and are pretty much a planetary militia that's used for putting down mundane things like civil uprisings and border disputes. Anything more serious and the Imperial Guard get called out.
